FREMONT-ORIHULA-WOLF RIVER JOINT SEWERAGE COMMISSION SANITARY SEWER OVERFLOW PUBLIC NOTICE

Notice is hereby given pursuant of s. NR 210.21 (5) that the Fremont-Orihula-Wolf River Joint Sewerage Commission (FOWRJSC) collection system experienced a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) event from 10:00 a.m. on June 1st, 2023, until 8:45 a.m. June 7th, 2023.  The overflow was approximately 709,200 gallons. The overflow occurred at a manhole on the treated effluent outfall main located 400 feet east of Milwaukee Street.

The SSO is directly related to a blockage at the effluent outfall point of the wastewater treatment plant located on the east bank of the Wolf River. Wastewater treatment plant personnel responded to the issue which mitigated the impacts to public health, the environment, and property. The SSO event was reported to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources pursuant of NR 210.21 (4).
