Dear Dog Owner:
Your dog is required to be licensed according to Wisconsin Statute 174.05 and Village of Fremont Municipal Code 212-4. In order to avoid the late penalty of $5.00, you must license them by March 31, 2026. If your dog is spayed or neutered, the cost is $3.00; if not spayed or neutered, the cost is $8.00. Dog owners who fail to license their pets are subject to a penalty of up to $200.
At the time of licensing, please present your pet’s rabies vaccination certificate (must contain vaccination date, expiration date, serial number, and manufacturer of vaccine) and proof of sterilization (if applicable) from a licensed veterinarian. No license can be issued without proper certification. You may request your license in person at the Village Hall, mail the information, or use the drop box by the front entrance of the Village Hall. You must enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you wish the tags to be mailed to you. Checks should be made payable to the Village of Fremont. Please do not include your pet license fee on the same check as your sewer payment, they will need to be separate payments.
If you no longer have your pet, please notify the clerk so your name can be removed from our pet licensing system.
